Atrributed to Keaulumoku, an 18th Century ancestor of Hawai'i's last reigning queen Lili'uokalani, the Kumulipo is an ancient Hawaiian creation and geneological chant consisting of over two thousand lines. Composed as a sophisticated epic of primordial cosmogony describing creation of the tinyest of life forms all the way to human beings, it continues into a web of interconnected & interrelated life and further on to a complex geneology enumerating thousands of ancestors of the Hawaiian royal families. It is from this beginning, the first seeds sprouting forth new life, that we get the inspiration for the Homegrown Hawaiian "Kumulipo" "H" logo t-shirt.
